The trip is always private: the car and driver are yours and your group's for the whole day. Your driver collects you at your hotel or home, waits at every stop and brings you back in the evening — coats, luggage and shopping stay safely in the car.
The itinerary below is a template. Stops can be extended, skipped or added (Zlatá Koruna monastery, Holašovice or the brewery in České Budějovice). The price and timing are confirmed in writing in advance, so nothing changes during the day.
From Brno or from Vienna — we run both daily
From Brno it is roughly 230 km to Hluboká nad Vltavou, about two and a half relaxed hours on the D1 motorway and onwards into South Bohemia. From Vienna the route runs via Znojmo or České Budějovice and takes a similar time, around three hours.
We collect you at any address: hotel, apartment, Vienna Airport (VIE), Brno Airport or a company office. At the end of the day we drop you wherever you need, including a direct transfer to the airport.
Hluboká nad Vltavou chateau: the Czech Windsor
Hluboká is the most photographed chateau in the Czech Republic. Its white neo-Gothic façade with battlements and a lookout tower was rebuilt in the 19th century after Windsor Castle in England, and it remains the most romantic sight in South Bohemia.
The Schwarzenberg interiors, wood-panelled salons, the armoury and hunting trophies are visited with a guide. We recommend booking tickets ahead in summer and at weekends — we are happy to help with the reservation.
Castle grounds, winter garden and views
An English landscape park with rose beds, tree-lined paths and a neo-Gothic winter garden — today an art gallery — surrounds the chateau. The walk is easy and worth an hour even without an interior tour.
From the terraces there are wide views over the ponds of the Hluboká basin and the Vltava valley. Photographers should aim for morning light or autumn colours, when the chateau looks its best.
Český Krumlov: a UNESCO town in a river bend
The historic centre of Český Krumlov has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. Cobbled lanes, Gothic and Renaissance houses and the Vltava looping around the town in a horseshoe are comfortably explored on foot in two to three hours.
The main square holds the town hall, the plague column and plenty of cafés. From there you can continue to the Egon Schiele Art Centrum, the baroque gardens or a viewpoint with the whole town at your feet.
The castle complex and the painted tower
Český Krumlov Castle is the second largest complex in the country after Prague Castle. Its highlights are the round painted tower, the unique baroque theatre and the Cloak Bridge spanning the valley.
The grounds are free to walk; tickets are only needed for the interiors and the tower. Your driver meets you at an agreed point down in town, so you never have to walk back the same way.
Late afternoon above the Vltava and the drive home
Krumlov is at its best late in the afternoon, when the day crowds leave and the tower is lit. We suggest timing the departure so you catch sunset from the viewpoint above town — the best photo of the day.
On the way back the car is yours alone: rest, charge your phone or work. We are happy to stop for dinner or a short break.
