Distance and driving time
Vienna Airport lies roughly 130 kilometres south of Brno. By car the journey takes about one hour and forty-five minutes on the D2 and A5, with no border formalities inside the Schengen area.
Traffic around Vienna can add fifteen to twenty minutes in the morning peak. For an early flight we recommend leaving Brno at least four hours before departure for long-haul and three hours for European flights.
Scheduled bus
Coach services run several times a day between Brno and Vienna Airport and are the cheapest option per person. They work well for one traveller with one bag and a flight in the middle of the day.
The limitations matter: fixed departure times, limited luggage, no service in the small hours, and you still need to reach the coach stop in Brno. For two or more people the total cost often approaches a private car.
Train
There is no direct rail link to the airport terminal from Brno. You travel to Vienna city and change to the airport train, which means at least one connection with luggage. It is a reasonable option if you are staying in Vienna, less so if the airport is your destination.
Driving yourself
Driving is straightforward, but airport parking for a week or more quickly exceeds the price of being driven both ways, and someone in your party has to drive after a long flight home.
Private transfer
A private transfer collects you at your address in Brno at the time you choose, including three in the morning, and delivers you to the terminal door. The price is fixed per vehicle, so three or four travellers pay the same as one.
We monitor your flight number on the return leg, so a delay does not mean losing your driver or paying twice.
